Rubber pads for rail track according to ДСТУ 2805-94 п.п. 5.1.2, 5.1.3, 5.1.5

Rail transport is an important link for the development of production in the country. It transports heavy loads: coal, metal, wood. Let's not forget about passenger traffic, which is very popular in our country. In order for cargo and passengers to safely reach their destination, the railway must be reliable and durable. An important role is played by rubber pads for the track . 

WHAT ARE THE PAD UNDER THE RAILS 

The purpose of the pads is as follows. They are installed on reinforced concrete or wooden sleepers, used to attach the rail to the concrete. Rubber pads for the rail  prevents the displacement of the rail, significantly reduces the dynamic loads. In addition, it serves as a source of electrical insulation on the sleepers.  

It should also be borne in mind that rubber pads for railways protect sleepers from the formation of cracks that can form when in contact with the train. Nowadays, these products are successfully used to protect the rails from wear, destruction, erasing of the sleepers under the rail base.

The rubber pads for the rail  has the following functions:

•         reduces the load on the road, reduces vibrations;

•         helps reduce noise ;

•         increases the life of the railway;

•         increases the comfort of passengers on the train.

In Ukraine, pads under the rails are manufactured according to DSTU 2805-94 . Rubber pads for the track have a different thickness from 6 to 10 mm. Thin products are used for ordinary ways, but for tunnels and racks it is recommended to use thicker products. The price of pad depends on the chosen thickness.
